If YOU or your child is influenced by Hip Hop, Raising Trndsttrs is a resource to help you along your parenting journey. We take a look at parenting through a Hip Hop lens. We examine the music, fashion and trends in Hip Hop culture and use them to inform our audience as well as illustrate how to use the information to spark conversation with your TrndSttr.

 

Raising Trndsttrs was started by Music Television Producer, Esteban Serrano (MTV/FUSE) and his wife Kathryn Serrano, a certified Life Coach. Together they made the decision to raise their three sons to carry on the traditions and legacy of Hip Hop culture. Their oldest son Josyah is a DJ/Producer. Their middle son Esteban Jr. is an MC. And their youngest son Mikael is a dancer and artist.

 

"What we noticed is how often other parents would ask us about how we nurtured our kids interests. The lightbulb really went of when parents who were unfamiliar with Hip Hop would come up to us and inquire about the dangers of their kids listening to the music. Concerned that it would have a negative impact on them. Thats when we knew it was a bigger issue that needed to be discussed."
